WrestleMania season is in full swing and WWE Hall of Fame inductees have been announced over the last few weeks. It’s been confirmed that Triple H, Michelle McCool and Lex Luger will all be inducted this year, and recently it was reported that the company was planning to induct former WWE Tag Team Champions The Natural Disasters
During a recent interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Fred Ottman (formerly known as Typhoon in WWE) confirmed the induction when he said, “It is an honor. It was crazy when I got that phone call… Mr. Pritchard called me. I couldn’t believe it. I was like, wow, what an incredible thing, you know? I always say, there are so many guys that are so worthy to be in there that aren’t yet. For this to happen is amazing.”
Sadly John Tenta Jr. (known as Earthquake in WWE) passed away in 2006, but Fred Ottman praised his former partner while saying he was like a brother from another mother.
“He was literally my brother from another mother. I’d tell him that all the time. We’d cut up and joke and have a good time. John was just so amazing as an athlete. I was proud when they put us together … I was just flabbergasted.”
As of this writing WWE has yet to confirm the induction, but an official announcement is likely to be made soon. Stay tuned for updates.
