Last week on Monday Night Raw, Cody Rhodes challenged Brock Lesnar to a match at WWE Backlash, and this week on Raw the two stars met face to face. Cody made his way down to the ring and he wasted no time calling out Brock Lesnar, but Adam Pearce came out instead, and he told Cody that he can’t let this happen because Cody isn’t medically cleared. The fans chanted “we want Brock” as Adam Pearce told Cody to leave the ring.
Cody agreed to leave and got out of the ring, then he grabbed a chair and got back in the ring. Adam Pearce called for security to help make sure Cody leaves the ring. Brock Lesnar’s music hit and Brock made his way out into the arena as Adam Pearce told Cody he will make the match official for Backlash if he doesn’t get physical with Brock Lesnar tonight.
Brock Lesnar taunted Cody from the ramp so Cody started attacking the security guards so he could go after Lesnar, but more guards held him back. Cody took them out too then charged at Lesnar as another wave of security stopped him. Brock Lesnar then left as the fans booed. Cody continued to beat up security then got on the mic and told Brock Lesnar he’s not a cowboy, he’s a coward.
WWE Backlash will air live from San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday, May 6. Stay tuned for more updates on the event as they become available.
