This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to air live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and it is a highly anticipated episode as Kevin Owens is set to challenge CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship tonight.
Ahead of the show WWE had originally announced Giulia vs. Blake Monroe and MFT vs. Damian Priest & R-Truth for the WWE Tag Team Championship for this week’s episode. However, it’s worth noting that as of this writing WWE is no longer advertising either match for the show on their official website.
The SmackDown section of WWE’s website is currently focusing on the following points for tonight’s show:
– CM Punk battles Kevin Owens in an Undisputed WWE Title Match in Toronto
– Will Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton unleash more chaos en route to Sunday Night’s Main Event?
At this point in time there’s currently no word on if the matches have been pulled from SmackDown, or if they are still planned for the show, but the lack of advertisement for the previously announced bouts is interesting to say the least.
In addition to Kevin Owens, CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, other names being advertised for SmackDown tonight include Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill and Gunther. Stay tuned for updates.
