The feud between Triple H and Roman Reigns has been built up for months and the two are finally set to meet in their first one on one match at WrestleMania 32. So far their rivalry has been brutal, violent and bloody. Their confrontations have set the tone for their feud and their WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 32 needs to stay consistent with that tone.

In order to stay consistent with the violent tone of their feud, WWE has one option, make Triple H vs Roman Reigns a no disqualification match. Out of all the matches on the card, this one needs the no disqualification stipulation the most. Here’s why.

The Feud Has Lost A Lot Of Momentum

Roman Reigns underwent surgery a few weeks ago to repair his nose and since then all sorts of theories have popped up. It’s been reported that the surgery was done to correct a problem that he had already been dealing for a while. But some fans think it’s all a conspiracy to keep Roman off of TV so he doesn’t get booed on the road to WrestleMania 32.

Regardless of what you want to believe when it comes to Roman Reigns’ recent surgery, his lack of presence on TV has caused his feud with Triple H to lose a lot of steam. When you need surgery it’s best to go as soon as possible, but the timing of Roman’s operation couldn’t have possibly been any worse.

Roman and Triple H spent months building up this feud but it has become somewhat of an afterthought when compared to the other matches on the card. There’s still a few weeks to go until Mania so Triple H and Roman have a chance to get people talking again. But the lack of focus on this feud in the past few weeks has unfortunately resulted in a lack of interest.

WWE needs to promote this match as if it’s going to be a brutal war to get fans hooked again. Announcing a no disqualification stipulation ahead of time could go a long way when it comes to creating a buzz around this contest.

Triple H Can’t Have A Repeat Of His Match With Orton At WrestleMania 25

Triple H and Randy Orton have feuded many times throughout their careers. Their rivalry reached its peak on the road to WrestleMania 25 when Orton and Triple H pushed each other to their limits mentally, physically and emotionally. Fans were ready to see the two tear each other apart and then WWE added a stipulation that killed the match.

It was announced that if Triple H was disqualified during the match, he would lose his WWE Championship to Randy Orton. We had all been waiting to see Orton and Triple H destroy each other and the stipulation all but ruined their confrontation.

Triple H has said several times that he and Orton didn’t get to put on the match that they wanted to. The last thing either one of these guys needs is an underwhelming main event. Hopefully Triple H keeps his match with Orton at Mania 25 in mind when coming up with ideas for his match with Roman at Mania 32.

The Other Matches Are Going To Be A Tough Act To Follow

If the WWE Championship match does indeed go on last, Taker vs Shane and Lesnar vs Ambrose are going to be tough matches to follow. Shane McMahon hasn’t wrestled a match in a long time and we all know he’s going to give us a WrestleMania moment that we’ll talk about for years to come. In that same regard, Dean Ambrose is finally getting his first one on one match at WrestleMania so you can bet that he’s going to pull out all the stops to create a WrestleMania moment for himself.

Roman and Triple H have the deck stacked against them if they are indeed headlining the show, but it’s imperative that they rise to the occasion. You know that The Undertaker’s match is going to be violent and you know that Brock Lesnar’s match is going to be violent. If Reigns and Triple H want their match to stand out on the card, they’re going to have to get violent too.

Roman Always Gets The Best Reaction From The Crowd When He’s Violent

Roman Reigns hasn’t had an easy time trying to get the fans to support him. Despite his and WWE’s efforts the majority of the fans just aren’t in his corner. In some cities they cheer him and in some cities they boo him, but more often than not he receives a mixed reaction at best. However, it is possible to get the crowd on Roman’s side and the WWE has done it before.

The Boston crowd cheered loudly as Roman Reigns gave Triple H a vicious beating at TLC. Reigns absolutely destroyed Triple H and the crowd loved it.  In 2015 Reigns was pretty much booed out of Philadelphia when he won the Royal Rumble. But the beating he gave Triple H worked so well that even the Philly fans cheered Roman when he won the WWE Championship on Raw the night after TLC.

It’s been said a million times that Roman Reigns is miscast in the WWE. People don’t seem to enjoy cheering for Roman when WWE tries to portray him as the ultimate good guy. However, people do seem to enjoy cheering for him when he’s booked as a violent warrior.

The point is, if WWE wants people to cheer for Roman at WrestleMania 32, they need to give the fans the Roman Reigns they saw at TLC 2015, not the one who cut that promo about climbing up a bean stock.

What do you guys think? Is a no disqualification match the way to go for Roman Reigns vs Triple H at WrestleMania 32? Sound off in the comments below.

  1. Probably not a no dq just because of Brock v Ambrose will be a similar stipulation with the street fight. It should definitely be a stipulation match though. More than likely a ladder match, a cage match, or with WWE’s love of the announcer table and the Dudley’s retirement I think a tables match would be befitting as well.
