It’s an interesting time to be a WWE fan, that’s for sure. Even though WWE Monday Night Raw’s ratings have been on the decline as of late, it’s hard to deny that WWE has one of the most, if not the most talented roster in company history in terms of athleticism.

There’s no denying that the current stars of WWE have taken athleticism to a whole new level, but there’s also no denying that the storytelling of today’s WWE programming leaves something to be desired. The storylines that play out on TV are unfortunately, often lackluster, and sometimes stars who were successful in NXT don’t always find the same success on the WWE main roster.

Triple H is the mastermind behind NXT, but Vince McMahon is still in charge of the WWE main roster. Triple H has dedicated a lot of his time to building up stars such as Sasha Banks, Bayley and the cruiserweights, and it was recently reported by Wade Keller on the PWTorch Livecast that Triple H is frustrated with how some of the former NXT stars are being booked.

According to the report, Triple H feels that much of the hard work that has been put into building these stars goes to waste once they are called up to Raw and SmackDown Live and they reach Vince McMahon. It was also noted that the booking of former NXT stars is a clear point on contention between Triple H and Vince McMahon.

NXT has had its fair share of success stories, but it has also had its fair share of failures on the main roster. For every Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, there’s an American Alpha, The Ascension or Adam Rose. Not every gimmick translates well to the main roster, but it’s easy to see how Triple H could be frustrated with how stars such as Sasha Banks and Bayley are currently being booked, if this is true, considering how well they were doing during their time in NXT.

On this week’s episode of Still Real Radio, we’re talking to former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger about what’s next for his wrestling career, possibly going to Impact Wrestling, winning the World Title and more. 1. Vince McMahons ego is what is keeping the wwe from returning to glory, if triple h can make no name wrestlers in nxt exciting think about what he can do for the main roster. If it were up to vince, cena would be champ everytime he returned from vacation

  2. Vince needs to stop booking everyone as Tweeners, and get back to basics. Faces, Heels, and focus on storytelling. The wrestlers are capable of putting on great athletic spectacles, but there needs to be clear reasons for feuds. Not just the “I don’t like you, because reasons” crap that WWE is pushing. Promoters have to get the fans to back the people that promoters want to push. You can’t “direct” the fans, if there’s no clear character roles.

  3. It’s true though, American Alpha is a terrific and talented tag team but with a gimmick that would’ve served them way better if this was the 80’s. Getting sucky booking after winning titles also part of the problem.
