Business has certainly picked up in recent weeks as Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble match, but The Rock returned last week on Friday Night SmackDown to seemingly set up a potential WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns.
On Thursday night in Las Vegas during the WrestleMania 40 press conference Roman Reigns said that Cody Rhodes missed his moment, so he decided to choose The Rock as his opponent for WrestleMania. Eventually Cody Rhodes made his way out to the stage and said “This is bulls**t!” The American Nightmare then chose Roman Reigns as his WrestleMania opponent.
Cody Rhodes told The Rock and Roman Reigns that if their grandfathers were still alive they would be ashamed of them which prompted The Rock to slap Cody. Everyone was separated as the press conference ended.
Later backstage The Rock confronted Triple H as he told The Game to “fix it” and said that’s what happens when Cody “talks s**t” about their family. The Great One told Triple H that if The Game doesn’t fix it he will.
Coming out of the WrestleMania 40 press conference on Thursday night Triple H has officially announced that Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes will main event WrestleMania 40. Whether or not plans will change between now and WrestleMania remains to be seen, but as of right now it seems that Reigns vs. Rhodes II is the advertised main event according to Triple H.
Stay tuned for updates.
