Over the last few years there have been a number of WWE stars who have taken their career to the next level and Gunther has without a doubt been one of the stars to watch.
Gunther is set to walk into WrestleMania 41 as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and he confirmed during a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show that he signed a new contract with WWE at the end of last year. The Ring General also confirmed that the new deal includes a tour bus and a private locker room. PWInsider is reporting that the belief is Gunther signed a five year deal with WWE.
When he was asked if he considered other options Gunther said, “No, no, no. I’m set where I am. How could I? I think I saw the statistic recently, since I signed in 2019 I’ve been champion like 85 or 90 percent of the time, or something like that. Obviously they always saw me in a certain way, and gave me that trust. I enjoy that. Even on a smaller scale in regular jobs before when I could step up, and take on responsibility, earn the trust of someone, and I can fulfill that, those are moments that make me proud, that drive me.”
Gunther will be defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and you can get more details on which names he was hoping to face at WrestleMania here.
