The Royal Rumble aired live from Tropicana Field on Saturday night and the show set the stage for the road to WrestleMania. Some of WWE’s biggest stars appeared on the show, but it sounds like one top star was working through an injury.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Kevin Owens worked the United States Title match at the Royal Rumble with a fractured foot. Owens reportedly fractured the foot during his match with Santos Escobar on the 1/5 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Kevin Owens had been making appearances on SmackDown and getting involved in physical angles with Logan Paul to build up their match, but KO’s match with Paul at the Royal Rumble was the first time he wrestled since suffering the injury.

At one point during the title match on Saturday brass knuckles were introduced and Kevin Owens eventually got his hands on them. It seemed that Kevin Owens had the match won after he hit Logan Paul with the brass knuckles, but the referee noticed the brass knuckles on KO’s hand as he was pinning Logan Paul which led to the ref calling for a disqualification.

It’s not clear what’s next for Kevin Owens as we head into WrestleMania season. Stay tuned for updates.
