Over the years fans have seen quite a few wrestlers make the jump from wrestling to acting with varying levels of success. The Rock is currently one of the biggest stars in the world, and in 2004 he starred in a remake of the 1973 film Walking Tall.

Now Deadline reports that a new Walking Tall remake is set to be filmed and it will star former Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. According to the report the new film is being developed by writer/producer David Eick, and the script has been sold to USA Network.

The Walking Tall remake will be a two hour TV movie, and the hope is that the film will lead to future installments or an ongoing series.

The film will see Charlotte Flair play a Tucson cop who, “finds herself caught in a web of fraud, exploitation and murder, and is forced to go full vigilante to protect her home town from falling victim to modern corruption.”

It’s being said that the role will be similar to the one Joe Don Baker played in the original, and the role The Rock played in the 2004 remake.

The film will be produced by Village Roadshow in association with Three Rivers, WWE Studios and Mosaic.

Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
