The Royal Rumble is only a week away and fans are expecting to see some big names at the event. However, one top star fans won’t be seeing at the Royal Rumble is former SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey.
Fightful Select reports that as of last week there were no plans for Ronda Rousey to be part of the Royal Rumble premium live event. Up until December the idea was for Ronda Rousey to be part of a singles match at the event, and although plans could always change, Ronda wasn’t scheduled for the show at the time she lost the SmackDown Women’s Title.
It’s not clear at this point where Ronda Rousey goes from here, but she teased during a gaming livestream that she could go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles when she said, “When am I gonna kick Charlotte’s butt and get the title back? I don’t know, guys. I’m kind of tired of Charlotte. I’m tired of that title. I already did it, you know? I’m thinking of taking over the tag division.”
The Royal Rumble premium live event is set to air live from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX on Saturday, January 28. Stay tuned for more updates on the event as they become available.
