It’s been an exciting year for WWE so far which has been full of twists and turns. Last month at Money in the Bank, Shayna Baszler & Ronda Rousey dropped the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles after Baszler turned on Rousey. The world was shocked when the turn happened and their feud has been playing out on TV over the last few weeks.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE had to rush the angle with Shayna Baszler turning on Ronda Rousey because Rousey is leaving the company. At this point it’s not confirmed that SummerSlam will be Ronda Rousey’s last match for the time being, but it was noted that she will be leaving WWE relatively soon.
Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler will face off at SummerSlam in a MMA rules match on Saturday. There’s speculation that MMA rules will mean that the match can’t be won by pinning your opponent, but instead by knockout or submission. However, the rules haven’t been announced and it’s being said that WWE hasn’t settled on exactly what MMA rules means.
