There are a number of talented names on the WWE roster and many of them have embraced multiple gimmicks throughout their run with the company. During her time working with Bray Wyatt, Alexa Bliss embraced a side of herself which was often referred to as Dark Alexa. The character hasn’t been used in some time, and now it seems that it’s been retired for good.
In a recent cameo video Alexa Bliss talked about the status of the Dark Alexa character, and she confirmed that the gimmick has been retired out of respect for the late Bray Wyatt.
“Now, about Dark Alexa, look, while I love that it meant something to you, it meant so much to me as well. That chapter is very special and very close tied with my time with Bray. So out of respect of him and the Wyatts, I like to keep that version of myself exactly where it is.
And for the time, it is retired and untouched. Look, but I can still leave you with this: on hard days, remember that even the strongest versions of ourselves are built through the darker moments.”
Over the last year or so Alexa Bliss has been working in the WWE women’s tag team division alongside Charlotte Flair. While Alexa and Charlotte haven’t held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in several months they are still in the hunt as they’ve been focused on recapturing the belts.
