Over the last few weeks WWE has released a number of talents from the main roster and NXT, including former NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream.
Velveteen Dream became one of the most controversial names in wrestling last year when he was accused of inappropriate behavior. Dream recently released a full statement on the accusations, which he said derailed his career and ultimately led to his release.
Many people assumed that the accusations may have been a factor in WWE releasing Velveteen Dream, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports Dream’s release had nothing to do with any of the allegations that were made public.
According to the report there was a different backstage incident that one of the company’s top stars alerted management to. The name of the top star was not disclosed.
