Tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown is set to take place from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN and it will continue the buildup for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
PWInsider is reporting that former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong is backstage at the SmackDown tapings in Nashville, and LA Knight is also backstage at the tapings.
It’s not clear if they will be used on tonight’s show, but it’s not uncommon for WWE officials to evaluate NXT stars by having them wrestle dark matches prior to TV tapings.
WWE is focusing on the following points for tonight’s show:
- The Bloodline acknowledge Roman Reigns’ record-setting Universal Championship reign
- Naomi gets an important rematch with SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair
- Kofi Kingston looks to get the last laugh in rematch with Madcap Moss
