Every wrestler tries to leave their mark on the business when they step into the ring, but there’s no telling when someone might have to hang up their boots for good. Kenny Omega has been lucky enough to have a long career that has featured numerous title runs and he’s currently one of the top stars in AEW.
However, it seems that Kenny may believe he has more matches behind him than he does ahead of him, as he recently indicated that the clock is ticking on his wrestling career while speaking to Sports Illustrated about his upcoming match with Jon Moxley.
“Time is running thin on the Kenny Omega clock. I can guarantee anyone that sees me perform live that there is a reason for that performance, and I work to make every one special. I wanted this one to be unique and very fun for people who tune in and people who are there live. And I know how competitive Jon is. This will be a grueling, physically demanding and violent cage match.”
Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley have been involved in a heated rivalry for years now, and they will face off inside a steel cage on Wednesday night. While talking about his next encounter with Jon Moxley, Omega stated that this won’t be just another show.
“Jon isn’t looking at this as just another show or just another Dynamite. He’s looking at this as a reason to show he’s the best. I’ll be there to do the same, to remind people why I am.”
