Tommy Dreamer is a living legend in his own right. He’s an ECW original, the owner of House of Hardcore, and he’s pretty much welcome to work with any wrestling promotion he wants to at any given time. So, it’s safe to say that he knows a thing or two about the business.

At WrestleMania 33, The Undertaker lost a match to Roman Reigns, and it’s believed the match was The Undertaker’s last. Tommy Dreamer recently spoke to WrestleDelphia, and he noted that although he thought the match was shocking, if he were in Vince McMahon’s position he would try to bring Taker back for one more match next year.
“I was shocked. I love the Undertaker both professionally and personally. When I left WWE’s ECW, I took off my shirt and laid it in the ring. I knew that ECW wasn’t coming back. People still ask when did I retire from WWE. Well, I didn’t retire, I just retired from that chapter in my life. From a business standpoint, if I was Vince McMahon, I would build the next WrestleMania as Undertaker’s last match and then have him retire.”
Tommy Dreamer is still on good terms with WWE, so although the Hardy Boyz recently returned at WrestleMania 33, the company is letting Matt and Jeff Hardy fulfill their prior obligations, one of which happens to be a House of Hardcore show on April 21.
Dreamer says that he’s not surprised Matt and Jeff Hardy returned to WWE, but he hopes they’re able to use the Broken Universe during their current run with the promotion.
“Not really. I’m happy for them. It’s the nature of the beast. I hope they’re able to be their reinvented characters as opposed to a retro act of the Hardy Boyz. But Matt and Jeff are super-duper talented and they’ve gotten even more popular with their whole deletion character than they were in WWE.”
