CM Punk has been one of the top stars in wrestling for decades now, and throughout the course of his career he’s faced off against a wide variety of opponents. Punk has yet to face off against Moose, but it sounds like the match was considered at one point in time.
Moose recently took to social media to say that when he was TNA Wrestling World Champion there were plans for him to feud with CM Punk. The current X-Division Champion noted that CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar is one of his favorite matches ever, and he was hoping to recreate something on that level.
“So while I was World Champ there were plans of Punk coming to TNA and us Fueding. Punk vs Lesnar from SS2013 is one of my favorites matches ever. I was looking forward to recreating something just as awesome. But Obviously it never happened but who Knows. Shout out to
@CMPunk GOAT.”

It’s not clear at this point in time when these plans were being discussed, but Moose’s first title reign lasted from October 23, 2021 until April 23, 2022, and he won the title for a second time on January 13, 2024, then dropped the belt on July 20, 2024.
One way or another there’s no telling what the future might hold for a potential Moose vs. Punk match as TNA Wrestling stars have been making appearances on WWE programming in recent years, so it seems that anything is possible.
Earlier this week at NXT Roadblock, Moose challenged Oba Femi for the NXT Championship. Ultimately Femi retained the title in a hard fought match. Following his appearance on NXT, Moose thanked the fans and the NXT locker room when he posted the following:
“Last Night I attempted to make History at @WWENXT #RoadBlock but fell short. I will learn from my mistakes
Mad respect to @Obaofwwe He is on a path to Greatness. Happy to be part of his Journey
Big thank to the @WWENXT universe/ staff/ locker room for welcoming in. See you soon”
