the young bucks

The Young Bucks made a name for themselves on the independent scene, and in 2018 there was a lot of talk about whether or not the brothers would sign with WWE.

During a recent appearance on the Talk N Shop podcast Matt Jackson revealed that The Young Bucks were negotiating with multiple companies at the time, and he received a phone call from Triple H while he was on a trip in Hawaii.

“I knew [Good Brothers] money. Everyone else was getting [$150,000] to start. He’s already offering us $500,000 each guaranteed. I’m going, ‘what!’ Right then, we knew our street value. That was the first offer. Basically, he said, ‘by the end of your trip, I would love an answer.’ The whole trip, I’m [stressed]. I kept dragging it out.”

Matt also noted that at thee time Triple H was interested in bringing The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega to WWE as a package deal, and that before the All In pay-per-view he received a text from Triple H saying “good luck.”

Ultimately The Bucks decided not to sign with WWE, and they went on to become Executive Vice Presidents of All Elite Wrestling, and they are the current AEW Tag Team Champions.
