It’s certainly no big secret that The Undertaker is in the twilight of his career. He has more matches behind him than he has in front of him, and at no point there’s no telling when, or if he might return to the ring.
The Deadman last competed in the Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36 where he picked up a victory by burying AJ Styles alive, and he recently told The Toronto Sun that he’s got another match in him.
“I feel like I’ve got a match (left) that is befitting what I feel like that the legacy of The Undertaker deserves. But the hard part is, if I grade myself, I grade myself on where I was physically in the early 2000s. I don’t grade myself on the curve of it being 2020 and being 55 years old.”
The Undertaker went on to say that even though he will retire from in-ring competition at some point, he will never truly retire from the business.
“I’ll never, ever retire completely. I may not get in the ring and wrestle anymore, but I’ll always somehow be involved I’m sure within the industry. For 30 years, I’ve been a mainstay in the ring.”
It’s not known for sure if there are current plans in place for The Undertaker to return to the ring any time soon, but there’s been speculation that WWE could be building toward a more traditional match between Taker and AJ Styles.
