The Rock is without a doubt one of the most well known wrestlers on the planet, and over the last few decades he’s established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood. However, there’s been a lot of talk about the box office performance for the live action Moana film as it has grossed $293,557,456 worldwide on a budget of $250 million.

RadarOnline is reporting that The Rock is said to be reeling over the disappointing box office debut of the recent Moana live action film. A Hollywood insider reportedly commented on Dwayne Johnson’s status and said, “Dwayne has built his entire identity around winning. When a movie underperforms, he takes it incredibly personally.”

Insiders also reportedly said that the box office opening numbers for Moana led to chatter regarding whether or not interest in Dwayne Johnson is waning. Another source said that The Rock is now questioning every move, every decision and every project. A studio executive also predicted that, “The next few projects will determine whether he remains Hollywood’s biggest star for the next decade.”

During a recent interview with People, The Rock admitted to being happy with the first two reviews for Moana as he said, “Our first two reviews came out. I’ll never forget it… They were amazing. I was like, wow.” However, he went on to note that the reception, “it went another way, as sometimes happens.”

There’s currently no word on if The Rock could be considering a return to WWE as he has mostly distanced himself from the company following his appearance at the Elimination Chamber premium live event last year. Fans have wondered for years if we could see a potential Rock vs. Roman Reigns match, but it remains to be seen if it will ever happen.
