If you’ve been following tag team wrestling over the last few years then you’re most likely familiar with The New Day as they have been dominating the competition in WWE for some time now.
This week on Monday Night Raw Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods challenged Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin for the Raw Tag Team Titles, and The New Day pulled out the victory to win the tag team titles for the 11th time in their career.
Even though The New Day have found massive success as a team there are some fans who are tired of seeing them win the titles, and Kofi Kingston addressed the criticism following their win.
“We told a lot of people what’s going to happen. A lot of people are upset. ‘Oh! We are tired of seeing the New Day as the champions!’ Don’t be mad at us. Be mad at Cedric. Be mad at Shelton for not being able to keep the tag team championships. Be mad at all your favorite tag team for not being able to step up against your boys. Be mad at them, don’t be mad at us for doing our job. All we do is go out there, we entertain, and we win championships. That’s it. Don’t be mad at us, be mad at your favorites.”
Immediately after their tag team title win The New Day were confronted by AJ Styles and Omos who challenged them to a match at WrestleMania 37. It’s now been confirmed that The New Day will defend the Raw Tag Team Titles against Styles and Omos at Mania next month.
