The Miz is a WWE veteran at this point, and most fans seem to agree that he’s one of the best talkers in the business. Throughout his career he’s had a long running feud with Daniel Bryan, and Miz got a lot of people talking when he cut a promo on Bryan after the WWE draft in 2016.
Miz was drafted to SmackDown Live, but after he was left off the show, he appeared on Talking Smack and went off on Bryan, who was the General Manager at the time.
Wrestling is a form of entertainment that mixes reality and fiction with ease, and his intense promo had a lot of people wondering if his anger was real.
The Miz talked about the reaction to the promo during an interview with Complex, and he noted that he got everyone’s attention.
“People backstage were packing their bags and leaving, and suddenly, everyone just stopped,” Mizanin recalls. “I only remember parts of that moment afterwards, because I was so angry. But I was just pacing. I didn’t know what to do with myself.”
Even though The Miz may no longer be the Intercontinental Champion, he still has high hopes for the belt.
“I want the Intercontinental title to be seen as more than just a ‘mid-card belt,’” Mizanin says. “The Intercontinental Champion used to be seen as a threat to the WWE Champion. My goal is to return the Intercontinental Championship to that level of importance.”
As of right now Miz is an 8 time Intercontinental Champion. If he wins the title one more time he will tie Chris Jericho’s record with 9 IC Title reigns.
