The Maria Kanellis pregnancy storyline has been one of the most intriguing angles on WWE programming for months now, and this week on Raw Maria held a gender reveal party for the baby.
Maria announced that the baby is a boy, and then she also announced named Ricochet as the father.
Ricochet then defeated Mike Kanellis in a squash match, and after it was all said and done Maria came out and named Rusev as the father.
Rusev then made his return and squashed Mike Kanellis.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the eventual plan is to reveal the father and to build up the mystery to get a ratings boost. Rusev is not the father.
It’s being said that the storyline will be more of a running joke than an angle that builds to a major reveal.
