Pro Wrestling Illustrated recently put out their list of top 50 women with Asuka sitting pretty at number one. This kind of list seems to really matter to the pro wrestling community. If anything because pro wrestlers are always looking for new things to brag about.

Tessa Blanchard was on the list but she wasn’t anywhere near the top. But that’s fine by her because the 22-year-old third generation pro wrestler still has plenty of time to do many amazing things in the business.

With the poise of a veteran possessing decades of experience, Tessa posted an incredibly insightful social media message concerning her placement on PWI’s famous female-focused list.

It may only be a matter of time before WWE calls Blanchard for more of a permanent role than just losing in the opening round of a tournament. But as she continues to travel the world and make her dreams in pro wrestling come true, Tessa is always inching closer to the biggest stage she can attain while loving every moment of it.

“Since we are all raging about the PWI Women’s top 50.. Why do we allow a number or an opinion to define someone’s level of success? Popularity is not the same thing as leadership. Just like leadership shouldn’t be a popularity contest. Of course, recognition of hard work is satisfying… but, I refuse to allow a number tell me who is and who isn’t “better than another.” There are so many talented women that aren’t even a part of this list who certainly deserve to be. My “number” has significantly decreased since last year & this has been one of my best years yet! I think it’s all sort of goofy. Be ambitious, work hard, keep your priorities straight, your mind right, & your head up. Here’s to all the talented, bad ass women out there that are working their butts off! Become undeniable. 💎 #TessaIsForever”
