For years John Cena was the ultimate good guy, but that all changed at Elimination Chamber when he destroyed Cody Rhodes and formed an alliance with The Rock. Cena’s heel turn sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling world, and it seems that everyone has an opinion on Cena’s big moment.
Steve Austin knows a thing or two about heel turns as he famously turned at WrestleMania X7 when he aligned himself with Vince McMahon. Recently The Texas Rattlesnake spoke to The Schmo about Cena’s turn, and he pondered whether or not the fans will accept John Cena as a heel.
“It had to happen sooner or later. Finally it happened. So it’ll be interesting to see, you know, whether the people accept him as a heel or has he turned himself more babyface. I think it remains to be seen as the story unfolds. Nonetheless, they’ve kicked off an epic build into WrestleMania. And that’s what they do every single year. And this year it’s here in Las Vegas, so it’s going to be pretty damn awesome.”
Following the events that played out at Elimination Chamber, John Cena is currently set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. Steve Austin recently commented on his status for WrestleMania, and you can get more on that here.
