It’s time for another round of television tapings for NXT. The Full Sail University arena was packed and ready to go.
Although there are many former NXT superstars who are now on the main roster and won’t be at the tapings, there are still plenty of excellent superstars ready to show what they got. There’s no doubt NXT is in very good hands. The following matches should air on the May 3rd episode of NXT.
One of the stranger parts of the tapings was the fact The Bollywood Boyz accompanied Jeet Rama to the ring. If you remember correctly, The Bollywood Boyz were the guys who popped up and assisted Jinder Mahal in his victory on SmackDown Live. The Indian tag team jumped up in crisp white suits to grab Sami Zayn’s leg and stopped him from hitting his Helluva Kick.
There are reports WWE might be putting together a stable of Indian performers. Wonder if Jeet Rama is in line to join those ranks soon? Rama defeated Maxx Stardom at the taping.
Hideo Itami was up next and got to show what he had. Itami defeated Kona Reeves who is a very good competitor in his own right. Both of these could very well be in the next round of NXT call-ups if they play their cards right. If you keep reading you’ll see he pulls a double duty here. This match might not make the taping. But who knows what they’ll eventually use?
Killian Dain is a monster and he continued to prove it at the taping. He defeated Danny Burch at the show. Burch had a hell of a time with Killian Dain.
Heavy Machinery is a tag team earmarked for greatness. They are rumored to be The Authors Of Pain’s next opponents as well. It’s no secret why either because they are brutal. HM defeated some jobber team at the taping to enhance them even further in the eyes of the NXT Universe.
Heavy Machinery even got the chance to cut a promo after the match. They said they were having a good time and hitting the buffet between workouts. These guys are awesome. They called out The Authors Of Pain but didn’t receive an answer just yet.
Daria Berenato of Tough Enough fame debuted with a new gimmick. She might have a different name, but it’s the same brutal attitude. She defeated Lacey Evans with ease to insert herself into the NXT women’s division.
Aleister Black defeated Cezar Bonini. His ultimate goal is obviously a shot at the NXT Championship but the #1 contender’s spot for that match is occupied because that match is next.
The following matches should air on the May 10th episode.
Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford defeated and HoHo Lun and Dylan Miley. Some in attendance said it sounded like the announcer said “The Street Posse.”
It would be awesome if Pete Gas and Joey Abs come back to feud with them.
Drew McIntyre defeated Sean Maluta next. After the match, it looks like some things were set up for a future feud between McIntyre and Wesley Blake. Since separating from Buddy Murphy, Blake has really been trying to prove himself. It will be exciting to see what Wesley Blake and Drew McIntyre will do.
Kassius Ohno faced off against Andrade Cien Almas next on the show. Ohno defeated Almas in about ten minutes. It was said the match was pretty good. Kassius Ohno is certainly come back for the top of the NXT card with a vengeance.
DIY defeated Tino Sabatelli and Riddick Moss and the NXT Tag Team Title match was announced for TakeOver: Chicago. You can get more on that here.
The following segment should air on the May 17th episode of NXT:
Bobby Roode came out next to cut a glorious promo. He said he’s heard things about Hideo Itami who won the #1 contender’s match earlier in the night. Roode Itami caught him with a GTS once before and it will never happen again.
Bobby Roode had a few things to say about what he planned on doing at TakeOver: Chicago. He also went on to besmirch the name of Shinsuke Nakamura, drawing extra heat on himself. He really is a master on the microphone.
Hideo Itami came out to answer Bobby Roode’s words of provocation. William Regal and security guards came out to keep Hideo from attacking Roode. Hideo eventually got through them though and ended up hitting Bobby Roode with a GTS in the ring.
A battle royal to determine the number 1 contender for the NXT Women’s Title ended in a no contest after Asuka interfered and a Fatal 4-Way match was announced for TakeOver: Chicago. You can get more on that here.
Authors Of Pain came out and their manager Paul Ellering was promoting his team with his microphone excellence. Suddenly SANity came out to stop the gloating.
There was some chaos after the match and security got involved. Needless to say, security doesn’t have the best record in NXT recently.
