Thursday night the stars of Impact Wrestling entertained the fans in the Impact Zone and former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio made his big debut and he was thrust right into the World Title picture. The former WWE Champion will be working as Alberto El Patron in Impact Wrestling and he challenged Bobby Lashley for the title during his first night with the company.
The finish of the match was controversial and when it was all said and done Alberto left with the Impact Wrestling Championship.
The company returned to the Impact Zone on Friday to tape more upcoming episodes of their weekly series and when they did Alberto El Patron vacated the World Heavyweight Championship. Impact Wrestling officials later gave the title back to Bobby Lashley.
According to PWInsider, it was announced to the crowd before the tapings started that Alberto El Patron didn’t want to win the title that way which is why it was vacated.
Alberto later told the crowd that he would still be the champion if not for politics.

Former TNA star Homicide is also reportedly backstage for tonight’s tapings and the TNA World Tag Team Titles have been returned to the company.
The Broken Hardys recently parted ways with Impact Wrestling and they were the TNA World Tag Team Champions when their contracts expired. It was reported that they wanted to appear on TV so that they could drop the titles the right way, but Impact officials wouldn’t let it happen unless they signed a deal.
In any case, it looks Matt and Jeff Hardy are likely WWE bound and you can get more on that below.
This gets confusing; they want to drop all aspects of the TNA brand from Impact Wrestling but are still happy passing TNA branded titles around like hot potato; and Del Rio isn’t El Patron it’s De Patron and he’s wearing an Impact shirt with the owl logo and not the new Impact
Wrestling – stylised logo.
Sort your s**t out Anthem this is why people can’t get behind the product.
How long before Jeff Jarrett is champion again.
Cool I guess.
