CM Punk last stepped into the ring when he dropped the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. The next night he appeared on Raw and teased a potential title match with Cody Rhodes, but CM Punk has not appeared on WWE programming since then. In recent weeks there have been a number of rumors making the rounds in regard to Punk’s status. However, it seems that he’ll be back on TV sooner than later.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that sources have noted there remains an expectation that CM Punk will return during the July 6th episode of Monday Night Raw in Chicago.
WrestleVotes previously reported that there is no backstage heat between CM Punk and WWE, and July 6th has been the preferred date for his return. A source at the Allstate Arena noted that they have not been informed of any change regarding Punk’s promotional status for the show, which is why he’s still being advertised for the July 6th episode.
The July 6th episode of Raw is set to feature a huge title match as Sami Zayn will be defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes.
