SummerSlam is one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year, and recently there’s been a lot of talk regarding what matches will be announced for the two night event. Business has certainly picked up for Rhea Ripley since she became the WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 42, and it seems that WWE has an opponent in mind for Rhea at SummerSlam.
False Finish is reporting that Jacy Jayne vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship has been pitched fro the SummerSlam card.
Fatal Influence officially joined the blue brand on the Friday Night SmackDown after WrestleMania, and they immediately made it clear that they were focused on capturing championship gold. Jacy Jayne has been a thorn in Rhea Ripley’s side for months now, so a title match seems inevitable at this point.
The card for SummerSlam should become more clear in the weeks to come as the King and Queen of the Ring finals are set to take place at Night of Champions later this month, and the winners of each tournament will earn a title shot at WWE’s biggest party of the summer.
Jacy Jayne was eliminated from the Queen of the Ring tournament last week on SmackDown, so it will be interesting to see how she earns a shot at Rhea’s title if WWE does indeed move forward with plans for Jacy vs. Rhea at SummerSlam.
