WrestleMania 40 has come and gone and the event gave fans plenty to talk about. Cody Rhodes managed to defeat Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and now everyone is waiting to see who The American Nightmare will be defending his title against.
Ahead of SmackDown this week WrestleVotes is reporting that the show will feature two triple threat matches with championship implications. Kevin Owens, Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles will compete in one of the triple threat matches with Santos Escobar, LA Knight and Bobby Lashley competing in the other. The winner of each match will face off next week and whoever wins the singles match will become the new number one contender.
Tonight’s #SmackDown is set to feature 2 triple threat matches to name a brand new #1 contender. As of now those matches are: Kevin Owens vs Rey Mysterio vs AJ Styles and Santos Escobar vs LA Knight vs Bobby Lashley. With the winners going one on one next week.
