Tony Khan kicked off Dynamite this week and he announced that the AEW World Championship and AEW Trios Championship had both been vacated. Death Triangle defeated Best Friends to become the new AEW Trios Champions on Wednesday night, and a tournament also kicked off for the AEW World Championship.
Bryan Danielson faced off against Adam Page in the first round of the tournament on Dynamite, and Danielson defeated Page to advance to the semifinals.
Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin faced off at the Rampage tapings, and PWInsider is reporting that Guevara defeated Allin to advance in the tournament.
Bryan Danielson will now go on to face Chris Jericho next week in the semifinals, and Sammy Guevara will face off against Jon Moxley. The winners will then face off in the finals of the tournament at AEW Grand Slam on September 21. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
