John Cena is one of the biggest stars in the history of WWE, and he’s managed to become a 16 time WWE World Champion over the course of his career. Last week on WWE SmackDown Live, John Cena tried to earn himself another title shot when he faced off against Shinsuke Nakamura, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
Last Tuesday it was Shinsuke who managed to get the big victory, and now Nakamura is set to challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam on August 20. So where does that leave Cena?
After Cena’s match with Nakamura, Baron Corbin made his way down to the ringside area to attack Shinsuke, and after one thing led to another, Cena put Corbin through the announce table. Cena’s spot with Corbin led to speculation that they will be facing off at SummerSlam, and now PWInsider is reporting that John Cena will indeed be facing Mr. Money in the Bank at the biggest party of the summer.
WWE has yet to make the match official, so it’s possible that it will be announced on SmackDown Live tonight. You can check out all of the matches that have been officially announced for SummerSlam below.
