Thursday night at the Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, FL, Jeremy Borash announced that a star who hadn’t worked with the company in over a decade would be making his return the next night. All day long on Friday rumors were circulating across the internet, and all signs pointed to the star being Matt Sydal, aka former WWE star Evan Bourne. Well the rumors turned out to be true because Matt Sydal made his Impact Wrestling return on Friday night.

The X-Division is what made people notice Impact Wrestling back in the day, and this week’s episode featured a X-Division Championship match in the main event. Low Ki was the one who walked out with the title after making his return, and it should be interesting to see how Matt Sydal fits into the division.
Sydal is certainly a talented high flyer, and if Impact Wrestling really is serious about rebuilding the division then he’ll be a great addition.

Matt Sydal is no stranger to gold as he’s a former WWE Tag Team Champion and a former ROH Tag Team Champion. Perhaps it’s only a matter of time before we see him challenge for the X-Division Championship.
