CM Punk has been off TV for months now, but it seems that AEW is making plans for his return. It was recently reported that AEW has tentative plans to bring Punk back to TV and that there’s even been an idea pitched to announce his return at the Warner Bros. upfronts next month.
It’s no big secret that CM Punk has had issues with The Elite as he was involved in a physical altercation with Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks following All Out, and Chris Jericho reportedly called CM Punk a “cancer” after the incident. Punk recently fired a shot at Chris Jericho in a deleted Instagram post where he called Jericho a “stooge.”
Recently it was reported that CM Punk is willing to meet with The Elite and Chris Jericho to see if things can be worked out, but it’s not clear if any progress has been made.
A fan recently caught Jericho’s attention on social media when they posted a tweet with a photo of CM Punk and Chris Jericho with a caption saying that Jericho has always been willing to work with everyone and do what’s best for business. Jericho raised some eyebrows when he posted a simple response to the tweet which said, “Not everyone.”

It’s important to note that Chris Jericho didn’t specifically state in the tweet that he’s not willing to work with CM Punk, but many fans are speculating that’s what Jericho was trying to imply. Whether or not Chris Jericho and CM Punk can work things out remains to be seen.
One way or another it looks like AEW is trying to find a way to minimize backstage drama ahead of CM Punk’s possible return and you can get more on that here.
