Their older brother Smith Hart was a former wrestler himself and made his debut back in 1973, he had stints in Japan and then NWA as well as making two appearances for WWE, the most recent being at WrestleMania 26 in a match between Vince McMahon and Bret Hart.

The news of Smith Hart’s passing was revealed in a lengthy Facebook post yesterday evening when it was revealed that Hart was diagnosed with prostate cancer a few months ago and it seems that he lost his battle.

Bret Hart was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and has managed to fully recover from the disease after surgery. It was unknown to many of the WWE Universe that Smith was even battling the disease and was recently making headlines when he stated that Seth Rollins was a danger to wrestling. This seems to be an opinion that is held by many members of The Hart Family and not just Smith.

It is deeply saddening that The Hart Family has lost one of their most influential figures, Smith began writing about wrestling for PWMania after his in-ring career was wrapped up, he will definitely be a huge loss to the wrestling world as a whole.
