Since the brand split returned to WWE in the summer of 2016, WWE officials have mostly kept the Raw and SmackDown Live rosters separate. However, there is one star who is allowed to jump from show to show as he pleases, and that star is 16 time WWE World Champion John Cena.
Earlier this year John Cena became a free agent, so now he moves between the blue brand and the red brand as needed.
You have to be pretty important to earn free agent status in WWE, and now one of SmackDown Live’s most popular stars is lobbying for the position.
Former WWE United States Champion Rusev took to Twitter recently to suggest that if John Cena can work as a free agent, then he should he be able to do the same thing.
If Cena can do both shows why can’t #RusevDay !!!! #RAW

It seems unlikely that WWE officials will make the call to let Rusev move between Raw and SmackDown Live, but then again stranger things have happened.
The Bulgarian Brute has undergone somewhat of a transformation over the past few months as he’s become a fan favorite ever since he introduced the world to Rusev Day.
The Rusev Day shirt seems to be selling well, and Rusev is getting a great response from the fans at the moment, so here’s to hoping he’s able to keep the momentum going.
