Throughout his career AJ Styles was part of some iconic rivalries, and many people consider Shinsuke Nakamura to be one of his greatest opponents. During a recent episode of Talk’n Shop, AJ Styles discussed his history with Nakamura and he recalled some of their biggest moments.
While talking about his matches with Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles noted that their Wrestle Kingdom match was up there, but also mentioned their last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
“It’s definitely up there. But then we had that Saturday Night’s Main Event match… I felt that one. Very similar to the kind of match that we had at Wrestle Kingdom, and I was like, ‘Man, if we pull this off, this is gonna be freaking good.’”
After AJ Styles defeated Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34, Nakamura turned heel when he hit Styles with a low blow. The low blow was then something Shinsuke continued to use throughout their feud, but according to AJ, Shinsuke hated it.
“He’d rather you guys forget about the nut shot feast that we had. He hated it. That (WrestleMania 34) was the first one. That was the first nut shot. He just hit nuts, you know? Luckily I had all my kids by then and so it didn’t matter.”
