Monday night on Raw it looked like Seth Rollins was finally going to get his revenge on Triple H when his former mentor called him out. Rollins was happy to answer the call but as he approached the ring he was attacked by Samoa Joe, and Joe decimated Rollins as the show went off the air.
Wednesday morning WWE announced that Seth Rollins had re-injured his knee during the encounter, and now Seth has officially been pulled from this weekend’s live events. The following update was posted on WWE.com:
“The full extent of Seth Rollins’ injury remains unknown, but WWE.com can confirm that the former WWE Champion has not been cleared to compete at WWE Live Events this weekend. A full medical update will be given this Monday night on Raw.”
Seth Rollins has been calling out Triple H on Raw for some time now and with WrestleMania right around the corner it looks like business was just about to pick up for their feud.
Seth Rollins vs. Triple H was said to be one of the matches that was locked in for WrestleMania 33, so this injury could not have come at a worse time.
Unfortunately Seth Rollins is sitting on the sidelines at the moment and his status for WrestleMania 33 is up in the air. It was recently reported that his recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks, which means there’s a possibility that he could perform at WrestleMania this year, but his participation is far from a sure thing at this point.
