Sasha Banks is a very popular WWE Superstar and tons of people are rooting for her even though it doesn’t seem like she’s getting that big of a push in WWE right now. While Banks is happy to meet fans at the arena, she has to admit there are a few fans who take it over the line.
Banks spoke to Sam Roberts on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast about how she understands fans’ passion to meet their favorite WWE Superstar because she was a fan growing up. But she would never dream of bombarding her favorite pro wrestler at their hotel or spending twelve hours at the airport waiting for them to arrive.
“Like to me, that’s stalking,” Sasha said. “I don’t tweet out what hotel I’m at. I don’t tweet what airport I’ll be flying out of. I do tweet what arena I’ll be performing at so I do expect fans at the arena and I’m so happy to sign at the arena. That’s fine because I’m telling you where I’m going to be at. If I see you in public, that’s fine. But when I’m in the airport at four in the morning and I see somebody with a carry-on and they open it with a hundred items of everyone and they’re bothering everyone to get an autograph and then I see it on eBay… that’s not okay to me.”
Sasha Banks has a long career ahead of her if she chooses to stick with WWE. While she travels the globe she will undoubtedly be approached by plenty of fans looking for an autograph and some of them might want an entire briefcase full of photos signed.
You have to take the good with the bad when you’re dealing with the general public. But as WWE Superstars they not only represent themselves but the corporately traded company they’re employed by.
This is one of the many times it’s too bad the days of kayfabe are gone. Because a heel would be allowed to be able to go even further in shutting down those people who are out to make a quick buck from their encounter with a WWE Superstar.
Of course, if you ask Bully Ray he has a very different opinion on this subject.
