When you’re a part of the WWE locker room reputation is everything. It looks like Sasha Banks could have developed a bad reputation backstage which might have cost her dearly.
Mike Johnson opened up about Banks’ backstage reputation on PWInsider Elite Audio where he said that her backstage attitude was an issue during WrestleMania Week while saying that she blew him off. He also said while she isn’t rude to fans in certain respects she has a bit of an attitude if you try to approach her in a place where she isn’t advertised.
“There certainly have been stories about her with her attitude and her and I had talked about that WrestleMania week and she kinda blew it off. In some ways saying that she does not have an attitude with the fans but has an attitude of if you are bothering her in a place where she has not made it publicly known that she would be there then you are out of line.”
It’s easy to imagine that being a WWE Superstar can be very tiresome. But when you represent a company who is putting a lot of faith in you to perform both inside and outside of the ring it can get rather difficult to keep things balanced. However, it’s still important to keep it all together to the best of your ability.
Jonhson expanded on Banks’ backstage reputation saying it wasn’t the only issue with The Boss because her lack of push could boil down to a few reasons.
“I don’t think there is any reason why the shine on her has gone away. There is probably a plethora of reasons including some of the factors you mentioned in your questions but it’s not just one thing. It’s a number of things. whether she sorta gets that focused unrestricted push again, that remains to be seen but I don’t think she’s really diminished in terms of her work in the ring. I just think they haven’t focused upon her as much as they were in the earlier days where it was her, Charlotte, Becky, Paige and others who are in the women’s division.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Sasha Banks and her backstage reputation. She has opened up before about how some fans are a little excessive in the lengths they’ll go through to meet her, but that’s a part of the job.
She also does strange things like when she made fans switch seats so she didn’t have to sit next to Bayley at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, but that was likely for kayfabe reason.
Let’s hope if there is some kind of backstage tension that it will be resolved because if not there are plenty of other women who are more than willing to accept her slot in WWE and all the celebrity status that comes with it.
