When Samoa Joe parted ways with TNA not too long ago, fans immediately started foaming at the mouth at the thought of Joe joining WWE/NXT. Joe has confirmed himself that he’s had talks with the E but he’s described them as “informal.” He’s made it well know however that working for WWE is something he wants to do and a recent photo of him shows that he’s gotten quite serious about improving his physique.

So how close are we to seeing Samoa Joe make his debut in the NXT arena as Joey Samoey? According to reddit user Falcon Arrow, we’re very close. Falcon Arrow claims that Joe has indeed signed a two year deal with WWE. Not only that but the same user is also claiming that Samoa Joe will be making his debut during NXT Takeover: Unstoppable on Wednesday.

That of course is just a rumor and it’s also a rumor that conflicts with a press release issued by NEW saying that Samoa Joe is booked for their events in New York on August 1 and August 2. Obviously if Joe were signed to a WWE contract he wouldn’t be able to make these appearances. F4WOnline.com is also reporting that Joe is actively booking more indie shows at the moment.

Thear bookings of course could be red herrings in hopes of keeping a pending debut for Joe a secret. They could also be cancelled should Joe make his debut in NXT. As much fun as that would be, WWE seems to enjoy making a big deal out of it when they sign popular wrestlers to NXT contracts. They made a big deal out of signing Finn Balor, Kevin Owens and even flew Hulk Hogan to Japan for a special press conference when they signed Hideo Itami to a contract. Although it would be cool to see Joe make a debut in NXT, outta nowhere, it doesn’t seem to be in line with how WWE has handled the recent signings.

To sum things up with all the rumors, Joe is rumored to make his NXT debut on Wednesday, but he’s also booked for indie dates in August and reportedly booking more. For the record though, we’re hoping to see Joe in NXT sooner rather than later.

That’s the rumor round up for Samoa Joe at the moment so until reddit user C8ckPunch316 makes a claim that Joe will be the first wrestler to perform in outer space, that’s what we know.

What do you guys think? Will we see the NXT debut of Joey Samoey on Wednesday, or will he continue his career as Samoa Joe for now?
