Samoa Joe steps into one of the biggest fights of his life in less than two weeks time as he battles Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar in a fatal-four-way match for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam.
Joe spoke to The Sun in the UK ahead of the event and it seems that the inevitable question of a CM Punk return once again reared its head. Of course, Samoa Joe perhaps knows CM Punk better than many of the superstars who shared a locker room with him in WWE, since Punk and Joe had one of the best rivalries in ROH, and even managed to score a five-star rating from Dave Meltzer.
That being said, it seems that Joe isn’t under any illusions when it comes to his former friend and enemy when it comes to the former World Champion always doing what is best for CM Punk.
Joe responded: “You never know with Punk. He is definitely somebody who does things his own way and I think the biggest thing is that you can never count out what his next move will be.”
It has recently been teased that CM Punk could be set for his second MMA fight after his humbling loss to Mickey Gall back at UFC 203 in September. There are a lot of different routes that Punk could take in his career at the moment, but it seems that Joe is right, Punk always does things his own way and if the time is right, then that is a decision that only he can make.
