Rusev recently faced Big Show at WWE Fastlane and the match was booked to make Big Show look very strong. Following his encounter with Big Show at Fastlane, many people were wondering if the match was supposed to be used as a way to write Rusev off TV and it appears that is indeed the case.
A fan recently spoke to Big Show and claimed that Show told him he crushed Rusev at Fastlane because the former United States Champion needs shoulder surgery.
F4Wonline.com is now reporting that WWE officials not only confirmed The Bulgarian Brute’s injury, but they also confirmed that he underwent shoulder surgery last week.
Unfortunately for Rusev the timing of his injury couldn’t be any worse as he was written off TV only a few weeks before WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. As of right now it’s not known how long he will be out of action.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Bulgarian Brute has been having problems with his shoulder for a while now and it was only a matter of time before he had to undergo surgery.
The Big Show also destroyed Titus O’Neil on this week’s episode of Raw and Rusev joked on Twitter that perhaps Titus will need surgery now as well.
Maybe @TitusONeilWWE needs surgery as well!

Rusev has had an interesting WrestleMania career so far as he defended his US Title in a high profile match against John Cena a few years ago at WrestleMania 31. Although Rusev didn’t walk out with the belt, he did have a very memorable entrance.
The former US Champion manage to score a victory at WrestleMania 32 when the League of Nations faced off against The New Day.
It appears that he’ll be sitting on the sidelines for the big event, so it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see what WrestleMania 34 has in story for him.
