Rusev’s popularity is at an all time high right now thanks to Rusev Day, and fans are chanting “Rusev Day” in just about every city that WWE travels to.
Unfortunately the rise in popularity hasn’t translated into a monster push for The Bulgarian Brute, as much as some fans would like it to, and he hasn’t appeared on SmackDown in a few weeks.
The official WWE Universe Twitter account recently posted a poll asking fans to vote on the most memorable moment from Rusev’s career, and the former United States Champion had an interesting reaction.
While responding to the poll on Twitter, Rusev jokingly asked if he was being released.
LOL Am i getting released or something !?! https://t.co/7LlYaLpbwO

Fans made it clear that they would not be happy to see Rusev get released on Rusev Day.
Don't you dare release @RusevBUL on #RusevDay pic.twitter.com/fCyq7Spmiw

Once again Rusev’s popularity is on the rise, but WWE officials do not seem to be responding accordingly.
SmackDown Live star Sami Zayn recently caught up with Matt Sydal, formerly known as Evan Bourne in WWE, and he had some high praise the current Impact Wrestling star.
You can see what he had to say below.
Had a great time last night with one of my favorite people in wrestling, @findevan aka Matt Sydal!
Matt is a passionate, abstract, and intelligent person, which may be part of why he's such an exceptional wrestler. He adds so much to any show he's on. Great to catch up! pic.twitter.com/ldWZyYnoc5
