Tommy Dreamer made a big announcement this morning as he announced that he and TNA Wrestling had mutually agreed to part ways. Dreamer had been working as the head of creative for Total Nonstop Action, and it looks like the company already has a replacement in mind.
Fightful Select is reporting that they heard from industry sources Road Dogg had been discussed as a possible replacement for Tommy Dreamer. Road Dogg previously worked on the creative team for WWE, but parted ways with the company earlier this year.
It was also noted that some sources in TNA Wrestling knew Dreamer’s departure was coming, but expected the move to happen after the Slammiversary pay-per-view. Delirious is expected to remain with TNA as part of creative.
Dreamer confirmed his departure on Busted Open Radio earlier today when he said, “All relationships come to an end, and yesterday I had a great conversation with Carlos Silva, and me and TNA are no longer in a relationship. We’ve mutually agreed to part ways. It’s hard. I’ve given so much of my life to that company. I don’t have any ill will or malice. I want it to survive, and I want it to be the best it can be. I love this business. It’s hard because I’m not gonna be able to see the people I helped. It was a 24 hour job. I think I had it for close to 10 years. Off and on, I’ve been in and out of there. I loved going to work. I did, but everything comes to an end. I’m not crying because I’m mad, or I’m emotional, but I know I’ll be ok, and I hope TNA will be ok. I’m gonna avoid my phone for a little, but like I said, I’m crying because I loved going to work, and I loved the people I worked with.”
Stay tuned for updates.
