Business has certainly picked up in recent weeks as The Rock returned to WWE as WrestleMania season kicked into high gear. On Thursday night at the WrestleMania 40 press conference Cody Rhodes chose Roman Reigns to be his opponent for WrestleMania, and The Rock followed up by slapping Cody Rhodes.

The Rock was heated as he made his way backstage and he got in Triple H’s face as he told The Game to “fix it.” Things got tense between Triple H and The Rock which has led many to wonder if the two former champions could be reigniting their feud.

WWE seems to be leaning into the tension between The Rock and Triple H for storyline purposes at the moment, but Dave Meltzer clarified on Wrestling Observer Radio that an in-ring return isn’t in the cards for Triple H.

“Paul Levesque and Dwayne had their thing that they taped on YouTube of playing the little game of they wanna wrestle each other at WrestleMania now.

“Which, as best I was told, that’s not gonna happen. I couldn’t even imagine Levesque. He’s got a pacemaker and he’s basically said there’s absolutely no way.”

Triple H suffered a cardiac event in September of 2021 and he officially announced his retirement in March of 2022. A few months after his retirement Triple H told Ariel Helwani during an interview that he was ok with hanging up his boots for good.

“When they told me, I was like, ‘OK.’ I think Steph took it way harder than I did and was like, ‘It’s not bothering you?’ I was like, no, I rode it until the wheels fell off. I did everything I wanted to do and then some.”
