Roman Reigns has been the face of WWE for years now, but it took a lot of work to firmly establish him as the top star. With Roman entering a different phase of his career there’s been a lot of talk about who can carry the company in his absence.
During a recent interview with Complex, Roman Reigns noted that he believes it takes some time to build up a franchise star in WWE like himself or John Cena. The Tribal Chief also praised Cody Rhodes and acknowledged him as someone who can carry the company.
“As it’s been shown with John and then also with me, it takes a decade or so. Can you perform every single time and then deliver when you’re asked? Can you do it when you’re tired? Can you do it when you’re sick? Can you do it when you’re hungover after WrestleMania? Can you carry the banner for this company? This is a billion-dollar machine. It’s not easy. There’s only been one who’s been able to carry that banner. And that’s been Cody.”
Reigns also indicated that he’s not looking to retire anytime soon as he teased that as younger stars continue to grow new stories could emerge. He also teased that he could have enough gas left in the tank for a whole other run when he added, “If I stay in shape and I do my end of the job. I could possibly still have a whole ‘nother run that we didn’t even think about.”
