For months now tensions have been boiling over within The Bloodline and on Saturday night Roman Reigns faced off against Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat match at SummerSlam. Roman Reigns retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but it sounds like The Tribal Chief got hurt in the process.

Dave Meltzer recently discussed Roman Reigns’ status on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted that while details regarding the nature of the injury are unknown, Roman got hurt early in the match.

“He’s gonna be back Friday. Roman Reigns got hurt in that match…I haven’t watched the beginning of the match over again but I heard it was relatively early…I don’t know the nature of the injury, I just heard he worked the match hurt. He got hurt early in the match. I don’t know what his schedule is but he’s going to be on the show Friday night. I would presume he’s going to be on Survivor Series, I don’t know that as fact.”

It’s not clear at this point how serious the injury is, but Roman Reigns was able to finish the match, and he is currently scheduled to be at Friday Night SmackDown this week. Now that Roman Reigns has defeated Jey Uso there’s currently no word on who his next opponent could be. Stay tuned for updates.
