Roman Reigns has been one of the top stars in WWE for years now, but his journey to the top of the company was interesting to say the least. After The Shield broke up WWE made it clear that they wanted to push Roman as the top babyface, but the fans often rejected the idea of Roman Reigns as the top guy.
The Tribal Chief has come a long way since then as it seems that the fans have a whole new appreciation for his work nowadays. Recently WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle discussed the trajectory of Roman’s career on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, and he praised the former champion for improving over time.
“Roman Reigns, because he’s the best. He has improved dramatically from when he started. The company had the rocket behind him when he wasn’t ready, but he was able to adapt and make himself ready.
What he was able to do is something that’s almost impossible. A lot of fans were like, ‘Why are they pushing him so hard?’ Now you know why. Because he’s really talented.”
Roman Reigns recently returned to the ring when he entered the 30 man Royal Rumble match. Unfortunately for Reigns he was eliminated by CM Punk. Following the elimination Seth Rollins hit Reigns with a stomp on the floor, followed by another stomp on the steel ring steps.
Michael Cole announced during this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw that Roman Reigns will be out of action for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned for updates.
