For months now Cody Rhodes has been feuding with Kevin Owens, and The American Nightmare defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against KO earlier this month at the Royal Rumble premium live event.
The two former friends faced off in a brutal ladder match that ultimately ended with Cody Rhodes picking up the victory. Following the match Jackie Redmond later announced that Cody wouldn’t be appearing on the Royal Rumble post-show because he suffered multiple injuries during the ladder match. However, Redmond did confirm that Rhodes would be appearing on SmackDown this week.
Ahead of SmackDown this week Cody Rhodes posted an Instagram story which contained the following update on his status:
“2 days in bed essentially but feeling good and ready for Memphis! Also, since I got through it in one piece I got to keep the best promise…”

Jey Uso managed to punch his ticket to WrestleMania when he won the 30 man Royal Rumble match. The Royal Rumble winner has yet to officially decide which champion he’ll be facing at WrestleMania, but it’s been confirmed that he will be heading to SmackDown this week to talk to Cody Rhodes.
